Accra YMCA Technical Training Centre

Established in 1966, the YMCA Technical Training Centre in Accra is one of the first technical training schools established in Ghana.

YMCA Technical Training Centre is one of the best technical centers in Ghana.

The TTC  offers skills training to Ghanaian Youth who did not further their education to the Senior High School, but instead want to acquire technical skills.

The school offers technical training for individuals who seek to empower themselves in the field of technical training. Preferably skills which lead to self-employment are what they offer as an institution as well.

The school runs two different strings of programmes. It has a three (3) year string and also short term courses which runs for a duration of three (3) to six (6) month. Programmes offered are building construction, architectural draftsmanship, electrical engineering, carpentry and joinery.

One can gain admission into the YMCA Technical School after completion of BECE or WASSCE.  The school is accredited by the national accreditation board. After successful completion of three (3) year training, an individual can sit for the NVTI Foundation exams and also the NAPTEX Certificate Exams.

As the motto of the school depicts “Builders of Tomorrow”, the school does not take practical training lightly. There’s more hands-on training where students have more practical periods.  Also apart from an individual’s major course of study, every student gets computer studies training which enables them to fit into the fast moving world of technology.

YMCA Technical Training Centre has a hostel facility, very spacious classrooms and it can be located in a siren environment in Accra, Adabraka. Students from the center after completion are able to secure jobs in industries and the YMCA gets good recommendations from these industries
