Entrepreneurship (Vocational and Technical Training)
Technical and Vocational Education and Training forms an important component of the services that the Ghana YMCA renders to the Ghanaian society and it features prominently in our strategic plan. Since 1966 we have provided entrepreneurship skills through vocational and technical training to young people to enable them to function in the marketplace.
With our renewed passion for youth work, we view our technical and vocational training system as a sure way of impacting positively on the lives of young people and empowering them economically for them to contribute to national development. We advocate for entrepreneurship thus give our young people the necessary skills to start something on their own. Through our training centres in Accra, Takoradi and Apedwa we have trained over 8000 young men and women for over 50 years. We hope to step up the quality of training and the number of young people trained per course as we explore partnership arrangement with both local and international partners.
