Welcome to the July 2025 Edition of our newsletter! At Ghana YMCA, we remain committed to empowering young people, building stronger communities, and inspiring positive change. Here’s what we’ve been up to this month and how YOU can get involved!
HIGHLIGHTS & UPDATES
Capacity Accelerator Network (CAN) Initiative Launch
We officially kicked off the CAN Initiative this month, bringing together over 150 youth leaders from Accra, Kumasi, and Takoradi for leadership training and digital skills workshops. The program aims to prepare young changemakers to lead impactful community projects.
Vocational Training Graduation
Congratulations to the 30 young men and women who successfully completed our Vocational & Technical Skills Program in carpentry, tailoring, and ICT. Many are already starting small businesses in their communities!
Community Health & Wellness Outreach
Our team partnered with local health professionals to offer free health screenings and fitness sessions in Accra Newtown. Over 500 residents benefited from basic health checks, wellness talks, and mental health awareness sessions.

Youth Leadership Bootcamp – August 10–12, 2025 | YMCA Accra Center
A 3-day bootcamp focusing on leadership, teamwork, and personal development for young people aged 16–25. Limited slots available. Register now!
Community Clean-Up & Fitness Day – August 24, 2025 | Accra Newtown
Join us as we come together to clean our neighborhood, plant trees, and host a fun community aerobics session. Let’s build a cleaner, healthier environment!
YMCA SPOTLIGHT
This month, we celebrate Ama Mensah, a graduate of our Youth Entrepreneurship Program, who launched her own eco-friendly fashion line. Ama now employs 10 young women from her community and is inspiring others to pursue their dreams.
