YMCA fundraising concert with the German classical orchestra “Jam Session” on the 31st of August 2019 at the National Theatre of Ghana

The Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) Ghana is inviting you to celebrate the World Alliance of YMCAs 175th anniversary on the 31st of August 2019 at the National Theatre of Ghana in Accra to a   concert with the classical quintet “Jam Session” from Germany under the direction of Anna Fuhrländer and with a Ghanaian orchestra from Accra from “Musiker ohne Grenzen”.

Background of the Celebration:

Founded in 1844 by Sir George Williams, a worker in the drapery trade in London, YMCA now operates in 120 countries, reaching 58 million people every year.

In Ghana alone, YMCA works in 30 different communities impacting upon the lives of more than 50,000 people every year. YMCA Ghana runs a variety of services like Senior High Schools, guest houses and hostels, day care centers, Technical and Vocational training centers. Recently, YMCA Ghana is creating a Media Hub Education Center to embark on film training workshops for Africa’s young talented filmmakers in the West Africa Region.

Ghana YMCA’s vision is empowering young people for the African Renaissance.

While you share with us in our 175th anniversary celebrations with the world, we call on you to support us through the purchase of tickets for the concert to enable us reach out and deepen our engagement with different categories of young people in Ghana.

The concert takes place with the financial help of AFREECA und FL.AIR and is supported by Bread for the World.

 

               Tickets can be bought at the National Theatre on the day of the concert and at the YMCA Headquarter in Adabraka, Castle Road.
