2017 YMCA travel experiences launched
Visit Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Belarus, USA, Romania, Cambodia or the Holy Land with YMCA Alternative Tourism. World YMCA together with local YMCAs invites you to join the exciting 2017 tours.
These tours are specially prepared by the local YMCA and each provides a unique experience by combining the best tourism highlights with an insight into the life-changing work of the local YMCAs. Alternative Tourism is a social enterprise that supports the Youth Empowerment mission of the local YMCA and World YMCA. Each tour is designed based on the principles of Alternative Tourism: assuring an authentic community-based tourism experience for the participants.
These tours are not limited to just YMCA people and all are welcome to join.

One of the most unknown countries in Europe with a unique mixture of post-communist and Orthodox atmosphere. Experience the living memories of the tragedies of the Second World War Visit fascinating nature with huge forests, lakes and rivers and meet the friendly and hospitable people.
Cambodia: 10-17 November
Discover the colour, chaos and culinary delights of Cambodia with the local YMCA as your hosts and guides. Visit UNESCO World Heritage listed ancient ruins as well as local YMCA projects. See Cambodia come to life from Phnom Penh to Angkor Wat, through ruins of ancient civilizations, between quilted rice paddies and into traditional rural villages.
Nepal: 20-27 November
Nepal maybe small but it is big in its culture, natural beauties, people and places. Known as the “roof of the world” here we find people of various culture, religions and traditions.
Holy Land 4-13 December
Experience the history and excitement of the Holy Land in this unique YMCA Christmas tour. From Jerusalem to Nazareth, the Sea of Galilee and more, walk in the steps of Jesus and learn from interfaith speakers as you visit the major historical sites of the Christian world and Bible.
